  • What is the Interior Alaska Food Network?
    Is a group of individuals that have a mission to improve Food Security in the Interior of Alaska through policy, promotion, education of the local food system. Interior Alaska Food Network is currently umbrellaed under the Alaska Food Policy Council.

    A healthy secure food system that benefits all interior Alaskans.

    Improve Food security across interior Alaska.
  • How can an individual learn more about IAFN?
    IAFN meets the second Thursday of every month at the Fairbanks Community Food Bank in their conference room. The meetings begin promptly at 1:00 PM and usually last about one hour. IAFN also has working groups that meet throughout the month to work on various projects.
  • Who makes up IAFN members?
    IAFN is made up of people from all walks of life. We have people representing from Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation, Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District, Cooperative Extension, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Interior farms, Fairbanks North Star Borough and more. All of these individuals work to provide support through networking and collaboration.
  • How can I become a member?
    It's pretty simple and we hope that you will take the time to learn about your local food system and how you can help improve it. Come to our monthly meeting or request a conference call. Join our google group to receive communications from us regarding meetings, agendas, projects, and volunteer opportunities.
